Heirlooms

"Heirlooms" is a series of furniture that came out of the forced immigration her family went through during the Armenian/Assyrian/Greek genocide of 1915. The heirlooms passed down through generations were stolen as their houses were raided, occupied, and left behind as they fled with what was necessary for survival. These pieces are a recreation of these heirlooms by recreating the relatives themselves as furniture.
